About Jay

For a long time I lived the corporate lifestyle, worked in cubicles and tried to live the suburban dream, but there was always something missing. Fortunately, a series of life events set me free to pursue a lifelong passion of video production, which I still do. Along the way I discovered photography and what started as an occasional side project became a life-changing journey of discovery and new creative possibilities.

I’ve always had a keen appreciation of modern art, especially its more expressionistic forms, which undoubtedly has influenced the more abstract side of my work. I’m fascinated by architectural subjects and how urban environments can frame the way we perceive the world. I felt that if I took the time to look beyond the familiar, I could free myself from that context and see it in a way that is as compelling as it is unexpected.

As it often happens, that journey led to another one, this time far from the city and to the black beaches of Iceland. That experience left an indelible mark on my consciousness and opened my eyes to photographing landscapes and the natural world. A perfect fit for my incurable wanderlust, my camera has become my traveling companion as I explore, create and bring back evidence of all the beauty that’s to be found in our world.
